• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Progress on the mystery Husky

C Class
I started to put my bike together today and thought that I would post a couple photos of the mystery Husky that I am working on. If anyone has a any insight as to what it might be chime in. I think it may be an 81 420 automatic. I bought it as a basket case. The serial number on the frame is CN03803 with 35mm forks it has a yellow seat and Koni shocks. It had a 250cc engine 2089. Anyway here are a couple photos. I am getting new tires put on in the next couple days. Will post an update.

CN frame# would indicate frame is off of a 1982 CR

2089 Motor would indicate it is a WR or XC Motor... Probably an XC and could be either a 82 or an 83 250.

What makes you think it is a 420 Auto?

Forks are off a 79 or 80 . 35MM were usually black in color . Unusual to have these forks on this frame as the 40 mm that would have been stock on a 82 CR were much much better.

Nice restoration by the way. Very clean. Looks great.

I was kicking it around with another husky guy who knows the bikes much better than I and that was his opinion. I thought that the CR's in that era came with 40mm forks and the Ohlins not 35mm forks and Koni's. I was initially suspecting that it was an XC of some of displacement. I wish I had some before pictures. I haven't changed any of the colors of the somponents at all. It will be nice to get my wheels on so I can roll it around the garage.
