• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Progressive Shock Question

B Class
I have 2 1978 huskys, a 250 and 390 OR and I'm looking to get shocks for both of them.I race 2-3 nationals a year and a little motocross and trails around the house. I have seen the works performance, noleen, and racetech shocks but those would run about 12-1600 for both of the bikes. I was wondering if anyone has any comments on the Progressive suspension shocks? they are alot less money but are not rebuildable as the others are. Please let me know your thoughts on these shocks.

i had a set on my 79 wr250...they didnt work too bad, but lacked in plushness compared to the stock ohlins. they got the job done however and seemed to be built ok for the price.

I feel they are a good shock for the average rider but I would think Works Performance or such would be a better choice for national competition at any level.

For myself, I have enough Ohlins to rebuild

I'd agree 100% , look at it this way, your car has radial tires on it , can you tell the different between a set of Sears tires & a pair of the higher dollar
set, sure. The way i figure it is this you get way you pay for. Progressive are ok shocks, but there not rebuildable, Ohlins, Works, etc are, and
your able to have them adjusted to suit you riding, plus they'll add valve to our bike.. Unless they have bent shafts or a damage to the shock body
used rebuildable shock can be refreshed for around $300.00 ...

All it take is a close call (almost crashing) to make a better pair of shocks worth every penny. that's my 2 cents...:D
