  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rekluse settings for a TE250

Just looking for what everyone is using...

I only have about a month on this bike and it seems like the clutch is set at the lowest RPM setting....it needs to be set higher I think to help it rev out easier...

not sure but let me know what you are running...Spring and balls...

Thanks

which version do you have? the EXP, the z-Start Pro or the trail version?

I have the z-Start version on my TE 250 (with the Athena kit). I like a medium engagement RPM with the softer engagement rate. This is a good set up for me in the tight, technical riding we have here in Washington.. but also keeps the clutch slippage to a minimum for the the summer months when we ride steep terrain, where a high engagement RPM could cause overheating issues with the clutch.

It all depends though. Terrain and riding style make a huge difference - this is my third Rekluse, which I've had on three different bikes. All were set up slightly differently, but for the most part, the bike makes less difference then where you ride and how you ride.

i have the z start...

it is set like yours...

makes it tough for getting over logs and such without the clutch...it just wont lift the front wheel up and over...

feels like it kicks in way to early..

I do race HS's and starting some enduros...most is really tight stuff...

yeah, you may want to go with the softer engagement spring then?? although with the 300 it's not a problem at all getting the front wheel up in first or even second gear at low rpm's, but then my gearing is pretty low (13/52 currently) and the 300 is a different animal from the 250.. maybe try lowering your gearing as well?
