  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2 have failed me so far this year both were sourced from 3rd world offshore locations. (the 2013 part is a differnt P/N than my 2011 TE310 and is physically different with the receptacle)
The failed one in my hand is from MAL-Aysia. The solenoid coil pigtail wire melted and the actual coil windings look like they were turned in a 3rd world alley.......
My Research has found that the Suzuki P/N 31800-21E20 part used in many Suzuki models is mechanically the same, meaning fit and finish is plug and play (the system connector receptacle is the same type as the husky wire harness plug) with exceptions.
1st exception- being the rubber mount holder is indexed differently, so you will need to pull it off and use the the one from the Husky 8000 H3644 relay.
The 2nd important one -very important one is that the system power bus (+ lead attach point) is on the opposite main starter terminal.
This is where the Pos lead sends its power into the electrical system. So when installing the Suzuki relay you can reindex the relay with the system connector up instead of its current down and fwd location or just route the battery + lead to the terminal with the bus (fused) lead and the starter side cable to the other main terminal. Note that the second fuse opposite the power bus side is only a spare.
Please keep this on hold, I am basing this solely on foto evidence and we will be ordering the Suzuki OEM part ($$$80) to verify all is good.
PS the Japanese are becoming very serious about parts sources and their official parts are well coded. The market is flooded with cheapo $9 Chinese and other knock offs.
I am 100% certain that the Japanese OEM part will be constructed in a much higher ISO specification standard. RN

PPS now we can determine at least one place where they (the previous owners) found a way to keep the Husky at a less price than the competition at the expense of quality.
