• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Road tyres for the Strada

Geeza

Husqvarna
AA Class
Looking to replace the Metzeler Tourance EXP tyres on the Strada shortly. These have been a good tyre but I only ride on the road so wanted to get a sports/touring tyre.

Having difficulty in finding a pair of tyres in the correct size - 110/80 r19 and 140/80 r17 -

So the short list are the Metzeler Tourance NEXT which has a dual compound rear or a pair of Michelin Anakee 3. Neither are a sports/touring tyre but are the best I am able to get as a matched pair.

Does anyone have experience with either tyre for road use only or can suggest another set of tyres?

Was told the Anakee 3 generate a bit of noise and are only a single compound.

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

For standard size, Pirelli scorpion Trail 2. You can fit a 150/70 on the rear, then you can use Bridgestone T30 or A40

I really like the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres I put on my Terra. The bike feels so much more stable on the road now also during high speeds and in the rain. I presume that the STII is also perfect for the Strada.

Thank you both for the feedback, greatly appreciated. I will have a good look at the Pirelli tyre.
