  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

There is a larger tank which looks like bulls horns sticking out in front of you but I need at least 15+ltrs. I think the one your talking about is Clarke?

This tank will look awsome once we custome make a Baja fairing to match assuming it fits my txc510.

I wonder how the fuel pump gets to all the fuel in the lower sections of the tank? Isn't the pump quite a bit higher than those sections?

Trying to imagine the red shroud sticker & maybe all black below that point.... not so huge looking? white makes people look fat the wife sayz

Yeah I think at the moment whoever designed this thing just got a case of beer, cut a hole in it and threw it over the old tank. No real design element at all except the mold that matches the existing tank shrouds.

Dog ugly...YUP. :)

I actually think it looks good compared to a lot of others on the market for other bikes.

The oversized tanks on the DR650 as an example look like tumors.

Ugly or not if it fits I will get one. Though I am supprised there are not at least 2 air flow vents thru the tank similar to the Honda CRF450 oversize tanks.

At this stage the Safari Tank only comes in Red or White, so forget about the black tank unless you wish to paint it your self. To get 16L out of a tank with limited space is not easy. Well done to the Australian company for working it out. It's a lot better than a small rear tank under the seat. A tank up the front still gives you options. This is one of the reasons I bought a 2010 Husky, before someone at BMW started to get to clever.

Well done Safari Tanks!
I'll be getting my stock in as soon as they are ready. :)

The low spots will probably have a pulse pump like Safari Tanks use on the WR250R yam tank.

It is more ergonomically designed than a box if it comes out of their factory I can assure you and at 16ltrs thats pretty good going.
A set of tank and rad cover style decals and you wouldnt give it a second glance.
If its anything like their other tanks it will ride really well too...

Its EFI only. The bikes are the same frame etc but you would need to blank of the pump hole and I guess there is no option for taps in the mould as they would be lower than the carb at the lowest spots and it would bump the costs up.
IMS and Husky (I believe) do a tank for the carb models already.
