• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SangaMoto..a few laps on my homegrown mx track

Looking good! You can really see the changes in the track at the end. Do you have to rework it or does mother nature take over?

thanks! i usually hit it with the bobcat a few times over the season but nothing major for the most part a heavy rain will smoothe alot of it ouf for me plus i make everyone stay off of it when it muddy so that helps out some too.

it still needs some work here and there. i definatley need to stretch the landing out some on the doubles and add some other doodads but it works for now. if nothing else its a good workout lol

Yea, the track could always be better but that will be a neverending project probably.[but fun & satisfying] Your fortunate to have the space for a track. With your youngster along you probably don't want a very high tech track anyway. I would lengthen the whoops for sure. Tabletops are good & will promote jumping longer to hit thle downside one day. Good luck & keep up the good work & get that little guy out there as much as possible.

hahahaha all the kids that ride here say the same thing about the whoops. i was plannin on putting more pretty soon. watching the vid its hard to tell just how big everything is on the track, not that any of the jumps are massive but they look dinky on the vid lol a cpl guys were suppose to come out and ride that day but the plans fell through. ill have to take a vid with some guys in front of me to see if that adds anyhting to the depth of it.

yeah, the vids I'm sure does not do it justice. I have seen monstrous up & down hills that almost look tame. It's like taking a picture of a fish that's been caught, If you dont put something beside it it looks small.

Man, you have a lot of land there.... the possibility's are endless. The good thing about dirt is, it's not permanent. All you have to do is find some good dirt, unless you have a pile laying around out of camera view.

Hard to tell from the video, but it looks like you are running length-wise across the top of a ridge... Is this true or just the look you cam is showing?

i wish i had a d9 dozer to work with lol i have 1 pile of dirt left that the company next store brought me when they were building. then back to skimmin and diggin with teh bobcat.

ray, its more of a small rolling hill type terrain, maybe 10-15' total elevation change if that on the whole course im guessing.

also learned that its 8/10 of a mile long the other day....i may have to tweak something here and there to get a full mile out of er lol

Maybe the elevation changes are too far apart but if possible, get some uphill \ downhill stuff going, even if in just short sections ... maybe add some hairpins or something to the long straights unless you are liking that high speed stuff ....

Looks like you perfect dirt and your roadside track is gonna draw a crowd some day :) ...

the hills really arent that greatest for the up and down stuff. i need about 100000 cubic yards of dirt lol

weve had folks stop and watch when we were ridin a few times. a state trooper watched for about 10 minutes one afternoon lol my original plan was to have people come out and ride but i dunno if i want to deal with the public man. already had to get on a guy for bringin a razor and a bunch of people i that i didnt know after i told him it would be fine if he brought out 1-2 buds sometime to ride. kinda was a dick but at the same time i felt i needed to squash the problem before it got anyworse. oh well life goes on

best thing ive done to the track so far...build landings for the jumps lol

The problem with a D-9 is they use $1,500 worth of fuel a day.. They do get a lot of work done though.

I have a small open area (maybe 5 acres) in my 15 acre back yard that I would like to do an enduro X practice track and a skid steer would be perfect for that project.

Very nice of you to open it up to the "public", but please protect yourself, waivers & insurance would be a must. Unfortunately, we live in the age of litigation & a tragedy on your land could bring a lawyer knocking on your door. Just sayin'......

Looks like fun & like I said before you have lots of room to grow & mod the track.....

You could sell tickets but do you really want the liability issues? The no rift-raft rule would be in effect 100% ...

The guys here call the landing ramps receivers ... After riding tracks where I can't clear all the doubles and have to do drop-in jumps, I'm down with the landing ramps and table tops ... They'll save you and your bike from a pounding ...

Yep, one lawsuit and you might be a spectator and not an owner in a few yrs ...

it is a good time and im fortunate enough to have it. we have waivers and for the most part thers a small group of neighborhood kids that i let ride on it and some of my friends and family thats about it. its still up in the air about lettin joe public on it. i dont need the bs and theres really not enough money to be made off of it to justify all the hassle that goes along with that. if i had another cpl hundred acres id think about doin a ridepark but probably just goin to keep er private and on a person by person basis

That's what I would do. Unless Joe Public has some dirt & a C9:) I think you need a pond. [for some dirt] Stock it & relax in a lounge chair after a good workout
