• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seat Covers

Try "Hi-Flite.com". Seat covers and foam for our vintage steeds. Choice of colors if that is what is needed. Non-slip is available also. I'm going w/ them unless you find something interesting.

Husky Products reproduction? The one w/ the jewel saver extension? Anyone?

Rick

I have one of the H P safety seats on my 83. It came on a 83 125 parts bike I got for next to nothing. Nice seat! The Hi flite safety seat on my 75 is top notch too!

Hello Westcoast, I could be interested in a spare seat for my '83 XC500. It'd be a shame to take off a factory cover from a factory seat. What sort of money would you be after for it?

Cheers
Lucien

Westcoast,

I'm interested too, standing just behind Lucien in the line to get my hands on your seat.

Peter - don't you mean "standing just behind Lucien in the line to get my bum on your seat"? LOL

You can have my place in the queue if WestCoast decides to sell. I already have a good seat; it'd be greedy to have two good seats! I was just trying to preserve an original bit of Husky kit.

Lucien,

Thanks for the correction  I have a lot to learn before I feel comfortable with the English language ;)

I do think the Asians are worse than us Scandinavians with their Engrish.

I would be very interested in the seat if the price is good, even here is it hard to get hold of a NOS seat.

Cheers

Peter

Petem,

Thanks :p It can sometimes be quite hard to find the correct words :banghead: but it's really good to learn more and more.

Westcoast,

Any price tag on the seat yet?
