  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Seating Concepts GREAT SEAT

I have a 2006 SM610 I bought new back in mid 06. When I got it, there was not alot of choices for seats. I ended up sending mine to Renazco. I got it back and the quality was good, but the comfort was not much better than stock. Rode like that till about 3 weeks ago.

Now shift gears to 2011. I bought a 2010 leftover TE310. Wanted to get the seat done as the Husky seats are pretty painful ass burners! Seat Concepts had come into existence so I sent my 310 seat to them and was very happy with the outcome/comfort. All day comfortable now.

A couple of weeks ago, I was really tired of my SM610 Renazco seat, I mean it just was not that comfortable at all, more than an hour and you get really sore. I sent my SM seat off to Seat CONCEPTS. Got it back and man what a difference. Wide in the right place, good quality foam and just light years ahead of what it was.

I am not bashing Renazco, I also had one of their seats on my KTM950SE and it was okay, but I can say that Seat Concepts makes a great seat and it is very reasonably priced relative to the other options out there.

Good Job SC, a very happy camper!

Completely agree. I have three Seat Concepts seats now, TE511, GG250 and CR125, they rule. Not flashy but awesome foam density and feel and perfect seat cover grip (not to much but enough) Those guys really hit the mark IMHO.

One Correction! My title says Seating Concepts but I did mean Seat Concepts! My Apologies!

Thanks for the catch OldHuskyRider!

I'll add my compliments to SeatConcepts as well, I couldn't use the sticky seat cover, I needed to be able to slide on the seat, so I had my wife sew some naugahyde pieces on the side of the stock cover to make it big enough to cover the larger SeatConcepts foam, and that foam has made all the difference for those 10 hour dual sport days in the saddle.

A friend of mine has a seat concepts seat on his husaberg and it feels very nice. My Te 250 seat is pretty uncomfortable on road rides and I wanted to get a shaved seat too rather than lowering the bike. Do Seat concepts customize your existing seat to suit your needs or do you buy a whole new seat from them. Also, is the 2011 te seat the same as any other husky seats? I noticed their website doesn't show product for my bike.

they will do custom jobs. Great people to deal with.

I'd like to try them out but am not confident enough in my ability to replace the foam and cover on my seat cleanly and am not willing to be without my bike for however many weeks it takes to have it done by them. Dang!

The foam and cover fit so good if you can get a stapler to sink some staples you can do it. Also i think it is only a few days turn around if you send it in. Well worth it. GREAT seat.

I had the same impression about the sticky seat cover the first time I rode my TE250 with it. However that sensation went away after an hour, so either I got used to it, or it got less sticky with a little use.

I rode the 130 mile Black Dog last weekend and the Seat Concepts seat was a true blessing. No monkey butt for me!!

I have 2500 miles on my Seat Concepts dual sport seat. I love it. Wide enough it makes it easier to hold on when you squeeze with your legs

Another big thumbs up for Seat Concepts, on my '09 TE450 I put a Guts tall soft and it was miserable, probably my fault for the "soft", I switched to a Seat Concepts this year and what a difference, very comfy for those long dual sport rides. I may just have to get one for my SM.

I can't give the same kudos to my stock seat pan though. Anybody else get really bad cracks in their seat pan? My seat pan is stitched together with stainless safety wire and plastic welded in six places.

As far as the install goes, I highly recommend a decent pneumatic stapler.
