• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Silly fork guard question?

Where can I get them? Looked all over the internet and can't locate a set for a Terra to put on my high fender Strada......

Dealer, or ktm-parts.com. I ordered from Bill's Motorcycle Plus in Oregon. I seem to recall the guards being the same part for another husky model.

Terra 15 80A0A8481 1 LH leg protection
Terra 16 80A0A8481 1 RH leg protection

Edit: Hmmm, seems the parts book has a typo. RH is 80A0A8482, I believe.

Edit: Yes, same part as a 2011 630 SMS, black or white.

M 24 80A0 A8482 1 Guard R.H. (BLACK)
M 24 80C0 A8482 1 Guard R.H. (WHITE)
M 25 80C0 A8481 1 Guard L.H. (WHITE)
M 25 80A0 A8481 1 Guard L.H. (BLACK)

Thanks, great news, now to find risers that don't require all new cables and a SC tall seat.

OTHERS CAN STILL CHIME IN. I WOULD THINK HUSKY WOULD SELL DIRECTLY FROM THE TERRA???

Check the interchange parts thread. Dutchgit did a high fender setup last week I think, on his wife's Strada. He used KTM fork guards and a KTM 85 fender. If the KTM fork guards bolt straight on, then Honda ones should work as well, IIRC.

The KTM ones wrap all the way around, but Cycra has wrap around ones that unclip and you can put on without removing the forks. Had some on my 08 KTM -- that also listed Honda CRs on the fitment chart.

Fork gaurds set me back a whopping $14 from my dealer. The part number for the hardware kit only includes hardware for one side, so you'll need two sets. Or just get hardware sourced locally, it isn't anything special. You'll need to re-route your brake cables for the install. More info on page 3 of this thread

Check out the 2" Powermadd risers. I'm running them and have not needed to replace cables. You will have to re-route your cables though. It seems that Husqvarna routed them the most bass-ackwards way possible upon assembly.

If you're a tall guy, you might try Touratech's adjustable footpegs for the F800GS. They are direct replacements and make a huge difference. However, depending on your foot size, you might find yourself wanting to move your shift lever too.

Here's the list as per Hall's last week (without the bolts and including another brake-like guide+bracket which I'll use
for a re-routed clutch-cable).

got everything but the retaining ring and the fenders of coarse

You don't need the ring and "cable bushing" for the high-guard changeover, I only added them as I've re-routed the clutch cable and don't like the chance of it getting jammed between the headlight shell and steering lock now, when the bars are moved lock-to-lock. There's a remote chance of the clutch-cable hitting the sensor-ring cable-nub on the steering lock, possibly causing EWS errors.

I found out the hard way after I just read your receipt to Bob (less the fenders I already have). The retention ring was back ordered anyway.. Thank you a great deal
