• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
A Class
I am new to the supermoto scene and to Husqvarna as well. I have been reading that this is a purpose built "race" bike that they just made street legal. I know a lot of ppl are saying that you have to keep on maintenance with these and thats not an issue for me what so ever. My only concern is being able to ride it to work. A 10mile stretch is 55mph highway with some stop lights. Is going say 70mph this shorter distance going to kill the motor? I dont get my bike until next week, so Im not sure what RPM's are at at that speed. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I had an 07 with an FBF high compression piston and two stage ignition, among other things. I ran the p!$$ out of that bike for a few months last year. Open roads, back roads, etc. The thing was an animal! I clutched a wheelie in 5th gear with ease. It's light and maneuverable and the front brake is nuts. I have been told by my dealer that the bottom end is more of a concern than the top end due to a choice in bearing size. I changed my oil about every 300 to 500 miles and had no issues. Maybe a little too often to change but I'd rather change the oil than the crankcase. If the bike is hard to start when its hot, ie, it cranks slow or doesnt want to crank, take a look at the exhaust valves. They may have tightened up. Otherwise, have a blast. I ran my bike up to 85/90 occasionally but often ran the bike on straight roads at 70ish with no issues at all. Any other questions or whatever, PM me. I have a few stock parts laying around for one also. Not sure if you would need them. Gotta look and see what I have. Also, I would highly recommend a steering damper. The speeds at which the front end gets light come quickly and you DO NOT want to get into a tank slapper! Believe me when I tell you.

Thanks for the tips! I did research on the valve adjustments, pretty standard stuff. I will be in the market for a steering dampner this summer. I've been just doing the standard research about the bike. Where you guys buy parts, reliability, mileage, std maintenance practices, etc. There is a lot of different opnions on what oil to use. I used rotella 15 40 on my fully built ltr450 quad. Seen a lot of ppl going with Mobil 1 15 50, a few ppl using rotella, I believe the same weight. Very excited about getting my hands on this bike and cleaning it up and making it my own! Will post pics!

When it comes time to buy a steering damper, contact Motorportz. Theirs is the best! Plus they are on the site often.

Im really having trouble finding any dampner for my '05. A few threads from a few years back ('07) saying that they had do weld on dampners because noone has bolt on kits for the '05-'07 bikes. Kelly at Motosportz said thye do not offer one as well. Anyone have any advice?
