  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Starting/Surging Issue: 2013 TE511

Josh45

Husqvarna
Hello Everyone, I'm new here. I am not new to the Husky brand. I had a 2001 Husky SM610S a long time ago. I missed the bike so much, I have decided to get another Husky. I recently (last week) bought a lightly used 2013 Husky TE511. I bought the bike with about 850 miles on it. It seems to be a great bike. However, I'm having trouble with my new Husky..

Here are my issues so far:
1. The bike does not start easily. I have to hold down the starter button for 10-15 seconds before it starts to fire off.
2. The bike has a surge when cruising at a steady speed.

The previous owner installed a full exhaust system (w/powerbomb & titanium fmf), Seat Concepts Aftermarket Seat, & Race Map 2. That is all that has been done to it, from what I can tell. The bike did not come with a manual or anything. I was told that the break in service was performed.

Are the above issues caused by Race Map 2? Do I just need to get the Zip Ty ECU Upgrade?
The bike has probably been sitting for a while, if I had to guess..
That may lead to a clogged fuel filter causing the hard start issue? What are your thoughts? Has anyone experienced this?

If there are threads already discussing this, please point me in the right direction. I do appreciate you Guys' help!

It seems like there are very few aftermarket parts for these bikes. I have found the following:
Zip Ty Racing
7602 Racing

Any other suggested sites for aftermarket parts?
Also, Where do you Guys get Husky OEM parts?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
