  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Stock '10 te250 skid plate in rocks?

R_Little

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Dare I ride my Te250 in rocks with the stock plastic plate or must I buy an aftermarket plate.......is so do I get a Hyde, P3, aluminum etc?

Thanks

Well over $2500 for new motor. 10% for protection....it's a racket but might save you a long walk too;) http://gallery.me.com/glangston1#100024/IMG_6270 Uptite is one choice, aluminum 1 714 540-2920

Get a plate that allows good air circulation. I've heard some Husky race bikes have had extremely high oil temps but there is a little more to it than just the plate blocking some nice cool air.

The Uptite you'r linking to is for the older model.
Last month, at a 3.5 hours race in HOT weather, when most bikes boiled like coffee machines, my TE felt like winter. Husky 250 never had heating problems. Having said that, holes in the plate sure makes a lot of sence.

Ive got a P3 on my 2010 TE250 and its a very nice item, around here its very rocky and while Ive bashed my footpeg mounts already the skid plate is holding up fine

I have the P3 and fits like a glove, love it. Don't forget about Husky Hard Parts one either. Friend has that and looks good.
