• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Stuff in my closet

Leftcoast leftkicker

Husqvarna
AA Class
Up-Tite jersey, used once.

Chuck Sun pants, used a couple of times. Sure wish I could find one of his jerseys!

Will also post a pic of the Team Husky mechanic overalls later (unfortunately without the leggy blond Swedish gal)

LCLK,
Not to hi-jack thread - my closet treasures.

Husky Product - Dick Burleson endorsed - riding jacket. Even still have the belt. Got it back in the summer of 1980 as a Husky promotional item w/ purchase of new scoot. the only other one I've ever seen belongs to a buddy of mine. He got his at the same time. He still has his too.

Husky Products tool belt. Its old too. 85' or there abouts. Been sewed up many times over the years. Still functional and used.

Old school Husky beanie from the late 70's. Love the black pom-pom. Still used when its cold around here.

Hey schimmelaw, how about posting the contents of the training manual? I had one years ago but has been lost, contains great info from back in the day.

I too would really like to have a read of these old manuals and handbooks, particularly the racing manual with all the set up and tuning guidance.

If anyone has one, please share with your Husky bros by posting up a pdf on the vintage tech ref section of this forum!

Thanks
Lucien

I don't know how to scan/post this stuff up. Mrs. Schimmelaw does but doesn't have the patience to teach me how. I would never ask. She would end up killing me. Maybe the kids might know how? I'll check.

Here are the mechanic's overalls:

Man thats too cool to wear!!! I'd have to kill myself if I stained that thing!!! but still would love to find one. Keep it away from a shock rebuild!!!

Left coast! do you sleep in that dress, since its hanging in the bedroom door?

( I would )

I lucked into a jumper too for next to nothing. A couple of gease stains and a little worn, but clean. Fits just right too.

Haven't found any cool Husky stuff, but I am bidding on a pair of original Full Bore enduro boots in my size.

Neat stuff, I haven't quite gotten to that point of getting any cool items to wear. Would love to see some of the types of boots you guys like. In a few months, or less, I'll be getting some boots again. Was just going new, since I wasn't sure what the Husky riders used exactly, and condition of used etc. Last boots I had were mid 80's black JT Racings, that I outgrew and worked into a trade long ago.

Dig all that stuff though.
