• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

i bought this bike was told it was set up for 230lb, im sure in real close to that with full gear on, took it out for the 1st real test yeasterday and it beat the tar out of me.

the guy who i bought it off of said he re-spring it and the guy before him revalved it. i turned all the clickers all the way out like i always do.

im wondering if the springs just havent broken in yet? or should i just respring it?

:excuseme:

If I were you. go back to basics. What size springs (rear should have a decal hidden up under spring)? What is the current oil height (could be to high)? What sae oil did he use (could be a heavier oil)? If you sit on the bike with gear on. What is the sag in rear? What is the sag in the front (use a zip tie fastened loose or O ring enough to slide on fork)? What are the torque settings on triple clamps? Are your fork tubes installed wrong and binding? Other option, best investment is to ship them off to a reputable susp shop (Alot of good shops recommended on this site) and be done with it.

You rode at Keithsburg. Keithsburg beats the tar out of you. Most of us stiffen up our compressions for the 'burg, because you don't want your bike wallowing all over the place in the sand.

Refresh my memory...what bike and year? You keep losing weight and you'll never get it broken in...J/K!
