  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HI just bought a tc250r 2014 model can any one comment on the reliability of these bikes I also own a te310 2011 model will the valves be as reliable as my Te?
Any feed back appreciated.

I had a 2010 black head model. That bike held up very well I feel. The red heads use Del West valves if I'm not mistaken? Make sure to have a clean air filter.

Thx for the feedback I agree my blk head bike has been impressive 6000kms and the valve clearances have stayed within spec hopefully the red head is just as good.
Thx mate

The red heads have a new valve design. From what I've read they should be more durable. my local dealer has a few 2012s left over. I'm tempted to pick one up but it's hard to choose which bike to sell for a new one. Keep us updated while you own your Tc.

Hi
hard to find these bikes new in Australia- I spoke with importer and he confirmed that the red head bikes do run the Del West valves so should be all good if We keep the air filter clean.
Stay tuned I will let you how the bike goes.
Cheers

Picked up the bike last week very impressed with how it goes very responsive off the bottom compared to my Te 310 could be the pipe or the different Eli not too sure but she runs great.
Came with a usb manual but it seems to be corrupt
Noticed that the cold start knob on the fuel injection has settings / clickers when you turn it I am not too sure how to set those I guess it air mixture so I assume you adjust for different altitude ?
Also noticed that the tyres scrape on the inside of the guards seems the the pervious rider hit a few jumps but I would of thought the suspension should bottom out elsewhere?
The bike is stock and is how it came from the dealer std tyres etc
Backed the suspension clickers off for my 13 year old son all seems good.
Cheers

Search "workshop manuals" on here... There is a thread with links to download the proper workshop manual.
One of my USB's was corrupt too... weird.

The air bypass cold start knob sets idle speed and I think 34 clicks out is standard.

Have fun!
