  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have been looking everywhere for a muffler and exhaust heat sheild for the 2011 TC 449.

Does anyone make one? Or can I retro any of the TE/TXC stuff?

anything has to be cheaper than replacing pants every week

Do you want the muffler or the heat shield? Fyi, TC exhaust is not compatible with TE/TXC.

Just the heat shield:
FMF H-ware kit Husqvarna TE449 '11 PC-4 MFLRS (045430) sku# 841912.

I am wanting a heat shield to protect my pants and a shield for the muufler too.

I have a TXC with a small flexible metal cover that should fit the TC, but I can't find where I got that last year.

Tinken.

I have read your posts and you have been amazingly helpful.

But how do you not ruin pants every ride?

I used to burn my pants with the stock muffler. I have the heat shield shown above and a 4.1rct. I think it sheds it's heat and doesn't get so hot.

Pirie performance products (P3) makes a carbon one for the header and the muffler for TE/TXC. Judging by photos, header appears to be roughly the same shape for TC, you could email them and ask...

For my TXC, I had some leftover header wrap from track bike and did a combo of header wrap and OEM husky guard available on fleabay or from husky dealer. The OEM stainless header guard was around 30 bucks and installation location would be pretty flexible - 2 x stainless hose clamps.

I think he is burning his pant leg on the silencer. The stock TXC muffler is very restrictive and holds a lot of heat. It is almost as heavy as the large street can so I assume that it has a large amount of metal for heat storage.

I bought this guard last year and can't find where I got it.

I want at least this or better and more. And for a TC

The burn is up towards the front of me knee. When I slide up the seat to turn, my knee gets down on the pipe. I wear knee pads or braces and the bulk catches the pipe.

Ooh look, disk wheels!
Oh a front guard, use the stock husky one or the P3. I bought header wrap, but have yet to install it.

I have the heat shields I pulled off my SMR. Shoot me a price over PM with you want them. Taken off the bike at 39 miles.

I just installed the factory Husky heat shield on my 2011 TE449. For $30.00 you can't go wrong. Nice fit and finish. I hope it works!

Hi guys!
Where can I buy a heat shield as in the photo?
I want to buy FMF Powercore 4 and want to install heat shield as in the photo.

After trading 7 idiotic emails with a FMF tech who ultimately said they did not sell such an item (Flying Machine Failure), I purchased this same heat shield. The powercore4 heat shield is sold as "H-ware kit Husqvarna TE449 '11 PC-4 MFLRS (045430) sku# 841912". It used to come with the powercore4, if it doesn't, you can purchase it separate.
