  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE 250 - throttle body upgrade

rockdancer

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I just recently bought a secondhand TE 2010 2010
After the deal was done the owner told me - oh the throttle body has been taken up from 40 to 46mm with a new hand made throttle mechanism. )
This gave it quite a power boost apparently . I believe the 2011 TC has
a 45mm throttle body but the 011 TE still has the 40mm - ? not sure doesnt say its been upgraded.
The CDI was also upgraded to 2011 version with dual map capability - Id assume a switch can be added to allow for a softer power curve if required
Would this be worthwhile ?
Anyway should be going for its maiden voyage tomorrow finally - in the wet.
Will have an older TE 250 to compare it to and my previous ride was wr 125

just note....you will have to ride your 250 like a 2t it likes to rev..as for the map switch not worth it ......ps what gearing you using 12/51 works for me

enjoy
H.B

its standard gearing 13 /50 - I may try the 12t front sprocket they gave me
for the hills around here
By the way Husky bom whered you get your sticker kit ?

Well had a nice warm up ride on the TE250 2010
Very happy with the performance of the bike . Feels slightly heavier than my old 08 wr125 but not much .
Faster up the hills and more able to maintain momentum than the125 - no surprises
Not much engine breaking so almost as good down hills as the two stroke
Rips out of corners
Frame feels a bit cramped so need to raise and move bars forward
Front feels twitchy compared to 48 marzocchis maybe? Dropped it in deep ruts
Much faster hitting power and more of it than than the TE 250 08 model I swapped rides with. Feels way lighter than old TE.
I think the 12 tooth front is the way to go .
Occasional flat spot off idle but not really an issue (2011 CDI)
Sounds great -
Need to check economy
Miss the simplicty of the wr but think this bike will grow on me
