  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How many of you guys still rocken the te 310 and how many miles you got on it , I have a 12 te 310 , 6000 miles 95% dirt on my 3rd starter replaced under warranty , temp sensor replaced other then that it's been a blast.

Ya I got a 5 yr warranty , when I bought it I wanted the best warranty I could get , at the time they could blend it into my financing , since then I picked up a ktm and they wouldn't do it they said I had to pay out of pocket for an extended warranty so I held off on it .

I think I'd be kick starting that bike as often as I could stand it. At least until I saw if the SWM parts match and they are readily available.

They say they are in homologation now and will be in the USA in a few months.

Agreed , after the first starter I kicked it after the first start up , once I got my ktm my son wanted to start going out riding with me so he used it all the time , when they replace it there is never any question which is nice.

You may be the mileage king Richard. I have not been out much recently with 3,500 on the 13 310. My starter is original though gears and such were warrantied when new. No issues once decompressor was addressed and Earth X installed at 800 miles. I use the button most of the time without issue, though I do not let it labor if I can help it.

what is SWM?

SWM classic iconic Italian brand reborn in the Varese ex Husky plant. with lead Italian husky engineer in charge with ownership by Chinese investors. They already have the ownership of the rights to the older style 100% Italian designed twin cam engines in 300 and 500 names and the big 630 powerplant machines as well as the entire chassis config of these machines. motos are built and shipping. (these are not x-lite series, blackhead/redheads - Gas Gas owns those)

looks like the sport race model frame supplier may be WP (KTM), they really look KTMish, the RS models look 100% Italian Husky.

All my riding is long trips alot of fire roads and such , they go on forever out here and it is only 8 miles away to the trail head.

From the pics I have seen of the SWM xlite engine the starter setup is different.

Interesting to see a hex nut on the oil filter cover so a threaded cover, and no rear sump plug, at least from what I can decipher....

2013 TE 310, 2200 miles, of that 95% was dirt. I only use the button to start but I had Zip Ty remap so it starts in an instant every time. Even after cartwheeling downhill.
