  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

having started a thread and ending up posting on motorsportz thread i thought i may give you a update, having finished a monster 170m trip yesterday and having dialed my suspension in too, i have to say the bike is awesome now covered 350 miles she is run in well and pulls lot better and the suspension excellent, having covered all terain yesterday snotty riverbeds, singletrack, rocky terain, fire roads ,forest it handled all with ease.having posted severall posts on motorsportz thread (you may want to read)i wont bore you repeating them, but if any of you have issues with this bike not being a husky forget them it rides like a husky feels like a husky and is a husky it is so far away from the bmw having riden them back to back you wouldnt believe. my only gripes with this bike ,wet weather overboot trousers keep getting burnt on front pipe(never happened with my 08) could do with more adjustment on gear lever but you get used to it after a while, and doesnt have a hour meter,oh and i keep scrapeing my lovely akro pipe with my boot when getting aboard but the are my own personall isues and shouldnt put you off in anyway so all in all a great bike enjoy.oh and had 84 mph out of her on the way home sure she would go little more.

I agree, have almost exactly the same amount a miles and just love the bike. Works great. Like you said, great motor and suspension. Feels planted everywhere, hooks up and goes forward. Clutch and trans are silky smooth. So EZ to be around and use. Mine is also loosening up and feeling faster, quicker. Several friends have rode mine and all thought it was excellent and were fast on it right away. Yes it feels very Husky to me too. A much better bike than I anticipated.

Only negatives i can think of is the shifter is a little high and the rear end is heavy when you have to lift it on the trail to reposition the bike. The clutch cover does not bother me any more, nor does the pipe guard. IMHO this bike is a bigger tank and taller 6th away from near perfection.
