  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2010 TE 510 and the issue i have at the moment is i keep burning my pants on the exhaust,is there a aftermarket shield or something to stop this from happening?Thought about wrapping some tape around the exhaust.

In Husqvarna special parts (original)catalogue you can find a exhaust protection

But check if you have the smal protection in stell suplied with the bike, STD equiment.

Go to Motosportz - Kelly sells one that works great and in the rare event there's a problem (like mine), he replaced it no question asked.

TE510 here, I have heat tape wrapped on mine, Might not look as purrrdy but never felt the heat again. I'm a function over form guy.

I was going to buy that guard, but Motsportz was out of them. Motosportz, do you have the above exhaust guard in stock now?

I think we actually have 4 or 5, we sometimes hold off on opening up items where we do not have a strong inventory to meet the possible demand. We also have a limited amount of the husky bar pads and the cool new husky exhaust plugs for cleaning your bike, in both the 2-stroke and 4-stroke sizes. The husky parts have been hard to get and keep any inventory in stock. You can always feel free to ask if we have something, we have a lot of stuff that is not on the website !!!

Me too. Been using header tape on my bike for years. Typically have to replace it about once a year due to trail abuse from sand, dirt, mud, gravel thrown off the tire and scrapping it on sagebrush or other brush in dense overgrown trails.

Attached an almost new pic and a good years worth of abuse pic.

I think I would like to try the P3 guard, but what to try it over the header tape to protect it more.....I still like the wrap not only because it saves my pants, because I feel it helps keep heat away from radiator/tank/carb, all noticeably less heat radiating onto my leg.

That Husky guard is not good. had it on my 510 and it does not wrap around the pipe enough. Ruined a nice set of Klim pants. You need something that wraps under the pipe a bit more.

Ended up throwing mine away (craked) and forking out the $$$ for the P-3 piece.

One caveat on the P-3 guard is that it does bulg out quite a bit and i find that my eft foot has to sit on the very outside edge of my Fastway footpegs.

I have only been wrapping my exaust pipe from the "kick start" lever back to the muffler, never really had a issue with the front portion. But I'm thinking of wrapping my lower radiator hose with tape for the sake of not cooking the coolant while going past the header (not the best design but somewhat unaviodable)
