  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

for the US txc 449 and txc 511 bikes just arrived and are to be dibursed to dealers starting monday.we are getting 1 txc 511 from this shipment.the street legal bikes are still not on the way to dealers yet.sounds like about 10 more days for them.i will be personally riding some of the new models on wednesday the 26th and will report my thoughts.dan

No oil in them either so dealers should check before delivering the bikes.

This particular bike is heading to Enduro Engineering in Michigan next week for a few weeks. They are going to use the bike to design a bunch of cool accessories for the new 449s/511s.

same as mine

no the stand is vast improvement on 08 it actually works.but i did notice it has different tyres mine has mich comp 3s and that seems to be running a sort of duel sport tyre strange.oh yes ditch the mirrors and indicators,rear number plate holder look crap.
 
Is that a BMW designed engine or from the previous MV factory?
Looks to be completely different from the previous generations.
HAHA - looks like you guys have hardly any snow ;)

my only concerns are the lack of kick start and range on a tank of fuel, can you comment on either of those?

I went to the bike show last night and neither of those bikes made it for the show!

I gave a light tug on some '10s recently and you could see the kick stand bend. Put a rack on it and a weekend's worth of luggage and it'll bend the stand or break it for sure.
