  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te250 electrical problem?

cycleman2009

Husqvarna
C Class
Hey Ive got a 07 te250 that will not start using the electric start, but will start with the kickstarter, and run for a short time and die.recently rode a dual sport and rode perfect until i dropped the bike and after that it will not start unless i kick it.I put a brand new battery in it and no luck, any thoughts?

Question: Does the starter motor turn the engine over or is there nothing when you push the button? I had a case where a couple of wires running back from the main harness to the relay were frayed, also check your battery cables. The negative cable is prone to break at the battery if the battery is not tied in tight. I have heard of the start/kill switch failing as well. Check your fuses and connections under the tank. My friend currently has an issue with his '07 TE 510 where it will run for 5-10 minutes and then die, no spark...let it sit for a while and it will start, run and die. He's having it looked at, so I'll post when we find out the problem. Good luck and keep us posted on what's up.
On a side note, My TE 510 started running real rough about the same time I discovered the frayed wire to the relay. I did a whole bunch of work over the weekend, tore the main harness out and checked continuity, went through each wire, checked the stator, even took the carb off and cleaned it...turned out to be a fouled plug! Start simple.
