  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE310 what's the best sprocket setup for torque??

Hi Guys,
I have to buy new chain and sprockets for my 2009 TE310 so I was wondering what would be the best sprocket setup for torque?? as it will be mostly used for off roading...... any Ideas thanks.

The standard factory race team set up was the recommended 13/50. I ran 13/52 for a while then went to 13/50 as my trail speed increased the suspension felt less harsh on decel especially with the 50 tooth rear. The 52 became a little too low going onto corners and transitions from on the gas to trailing throttle, I was getting alot of wheel hop even with my left hand "slipper" clutch action. PS Im not a fan of of anything under 13T up front for a 520 chain, but some folks do it regularly (it works but I stay away). Sorry but that is for X-Lite later models, I am assuming the close to or same for the older model 250/310.

ok fitted the new chain and new 13/52 sprockets today, the old setup was a 13/50! haven't fully tested it out yet but its made a big difference as my old front sprocket was shot! I see the most popular set up here is the 13/50...... I myself dont ride on the track, just off roading on the steep hills and mountains where bottom end power is more preferable than top end speed!20140808_143901.jpg

"Still a few rides left on that one!"

I use a 14/50 and it's working great. Lose a little low end torque but not enough to really complain. Mostly ride dirt some single track some fire roads and some technical stuff too. I like the 14/50 when you need to go from street to dirt. the 13/50 revved up to much and my bike felt like it was going to explode at 55 on the street. With the 14/50 I can cruise nicely at 55 and can do 65 for short burst without over doing it. Not sure if this helps anyone but I ride a lot in the mountains high up in elevation in CA and UT.
