  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te310r exhaust slip on pipe

New to the 4 stroke seen and just bought a 2014 te310r. Coming off a kx250 and was wondering what performance or aftermarket things can I do it to make this bike a little faster and more powerful? Has anyone added a proven exhaust were they actual felt a difference? If so. What kind?

I got rid of all the pollution stuff and mapped it and went to a 50th sprocket. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks in advance!

I have a '13 TE310R(same bike as yours) and came from a YZ250. I was looking for more snap off the bottom and went with an FMF Powercore4 slip-on. It added more everywhere IMO but especially in the lower revs. It also feels like it revs quicker. It is a bit louder than stock but not horribly loud, although I just put a quiet insert in it last weekend to ensure I can pass the sound test at an upcoming DS event. It made it much quieter at small throttle openings and slightly quieter at large throttle openings. It also took some of the snap away from the lower revs so I am not sure how I feel about that. I need a couple of rides to determine if I can live with the smoother delivery as my riding style has changed since moving to the little thumper.

I put an FMF Powerbomb header and a Q4 silencer on my 2012 TE310 and it made a huge difference in the bottom and midrange power. It pulls much stronger at low revs now.

Do you have have problems with the front end shaky or wobbling at 40mph on road or dirt? What tires do you have. Thanks

Rode the 310 last weekend with the quiet insert. The bike is much quieter than before. My son said he could no longer hear me behind him unless I was right on top of him. I am happy with the performance it has with the insert. It has a bit less snap on the bottom but still plenty. One thing I really liked was I felt I could get on the throttle sooner in the turns with the smooth power. Still had plenty of mid and top for my riding ability.
On the down side, it ran noticably hotter. My fan normally only comes on when running very tight single track. The fan kicked on several times and the trail we were on was not extremely tight. Mostly 2nd-3rd gear. I just got off the phone with zip-ty, ordered a hose kit that also eliminates the thermostat. I already have some of their coolant, I will wait for the hoses and then install them and put the XF coolant in and see if that helps the bike run cooler. I would prefer to keep the quiet insert in place all the time but I don't want to fry my motor by doing so.
