  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

te310R starts and runs for 4 seconds then dies...

Thought I was going to ride tomorrow. Bike has been sitting for 1 month. Go to start it up and it wouldn't fire. Hmmm? Sprayed Hot start at air filter and it fires then dies. Then it occurs to me that I did not pull the enrichener thingy. I pull it and it starts but dies after about 4 seconds. Does this repeatedly. Won't keep running no matter what I do to the enrichener. How soon after it starts do you need to push the enrichener back in? I usually do it after 10 sec. or so. Don't want to overwork the flimsy starter which has not failed so far. Bike has always started well. What to do next? Don't know what to try on an injected bike.Gas is not as fresh as i'd like but only 2 months old. Help?

Well I tried to start it a few more times and it started and kept running on about the 5th try--and seems to run fine... All I can think of is that maybe the gas within the injection system maybe stratified/separated or lost it's light-bodied parts and once all that ethanol laced gooey fuel passed and the new fuel entered the system it could then run(?). I'm all ears...

That's as good a theory as I could come up with. The injector was likely clogged but finally passed the crap. I see fresh gas and ethanol treatment in your future.

She was protesting as you left her alone for a month, these huskys are like women an throw a strop if you dont ride them as much as possible;)
