  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE449 and Motuz Tractionator 130/18 - Holy Crap Batman!

Mounted a new Tractionator Rear today and took the TE449 out for a spin in the back field.

I am BLOWN away by the hook-up on grass, loamy single track and loose rock.

Night and day difference over the Trakmasters and Scorpions I had been running.

While I haven't been out for a real ride yet - the abuptness of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear power wheelies caught me off guard.... effortless and startling. I was like WTF?!?! just happened.??

Seeing as I ride about 95% tight singletrack, I'm thinking that this is going to take some time to get used to. My bike NEVER did that before, even with all the standard power-ups done.

The 449 is a whole new beastie.:D Other than playing with gearing, by far the most noticable change in hit after doing ANYTHING to this bike. Seems crazy that it took 30 mins and a new rear tire.

I may be scared of it now... lol

Maybe it's time for me to revisit the Motoz brand....

The original 'Tractionator' from about 5 years ago were made from something like rubberised ceramic****************************************
They offered NO grip what-so-ever & would not wear away.
I even did a 50m stand up burn-out on bitumen to try & get rid of it to no avail!! WTF :excuseme:

Good to hear the newer ones are better.

AJ....Sunday morning ...early...time to break that tire in....let's go...Ganny single track!

Ken!

Can't go Sunday :(

Join us tomorrow morning 8 am dressed at porter. Most of the wed night crew are riding.

I'm excited to give this tire a real go.

Damn, I can't make it tomorrow. I am down in the city and have to spend the day tomorrow in Niagra Falls for the wife's birthday. Let me know if you guys are riding next weekend. My buddy put one of those on his Kawi and just loves it.

Have a good rip.

good on rocky ground just steer clear of mud and clay. terrible. i have a fairly new one in my shed. its on the 'never again' list.

Got out Saturday for 4 hours on the new tire. In response to Danny, I was more than happy with the new Motuz Rear. Truthfully, I did not find it hooking up quite like it did at home, while on the trail - but it was still very good. Trail conditions were wet, lots of slick roots and logs, small mud holes and slick corners.

I did not have any real traction or cornering issues with the rear. I thought it was especially good in the sand and mud. Seemed fine on wet logs and roots (I mean hey, how good is anything on wet de-barked logs and root step-ups?). I didn't fall so that's was a bonus :P

Pretty happy with it, and didn't feel anything glaringly awful about it.

Guy at the Beehive Enduro was sporting a "Beta version" of a new MotoZ trials tire with some knob spacing and side knobs.

I really like the MotoZ too. The only one I haven't tried yet is the X Circuit. I've got the Terrapactor front and rear on my 300 2t and love em'.
Also running an ST Enduro (rear) on my 511. It does surprisingly well on rocky terrain. A little squirly on loose gravel and sand though. DOT legal, which is cool.

I put an Enduro I/T rear tire on a couples months back, it about put me on my ass the first time I nailed it in the soft stuff lol.
