  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thank you Sir, will do!

Since it is your thread and you are still around, we can hijack it a little. You going to have internet access over there? Any clue when you will be online next?

Heck, it's your site, hijack away! Hahaha! I'm sitting in the terminal in Norfolk as we speak with wi-fi. We'll be wheels up in another 1.5 hrs. We will have access over there for morale purposes, so I definately will be popping in here regular. I don't think I've left this sight more than an hour or two since I found it! Lot's of good folks and information here!

If you like the idea of 4th gear throttle wheelies, the TE 510 is the way to go. I have the Arrow pipe with 02 sensor in, stock gearing. I am glad I picked it as my first Husky. Be safe over there. :usa:

Please be safe and thank you very much for your service!

I love my TE450 and WHEN you get back I'm sure that you'll love whatever Husky you end up with too.

i have a 07 TE 450, it's my first husky, in fact, it's my first dirt bike in about 25 years. i'm 5'3" and weigh 80kgs. i agree with ioneater, they do get a little heavy to pick up after a long day but it's worth it. the thing is easy to ride fast, easy to maintain ( i love to tinker) and from my experience, bulletproof.
really, as long as you respect the twistgrip you will be fine, i nearly bought a 250 but after years on road bikes i was worried i'd get bored with it and want more power, that's not an issue on the 450, at least for me.

I just moved up from a Cr 85 to a 510, and I don't think it is hard hitting at all. But I can leave my dad (KTM 300) in the dust. It is heavy though...Thank you for your services and be safe
