  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te510 2008 non starter! Help please!

RossmcG

Husqvarna
AA Class
I am a newbie needing help! I live in Palma Mallorca Spain and have just purchased a non starting te510 2008. It has not been started in 2 years, the neutral light flashes three short, one long. There is spark, I am not sure if it is strong enough! The off switch is not there and the starter button is disconnected. I have checked fuses, the wiring looks messy! Please, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

I live in Palma Mallorca Spain and there are no dealers on the island. Is Ibeat the only way forward! If there is spark and fuel being deliverd, will it start or are all the other variables, eg sensors etc causing the non starting. (If the sensor is faulty)

I beat is the only program that I'm aware of that will talk to your ECM. Call Dan at Motoxotica in Vacaville, ca. (707)-446-4282. He should be able to help you with your answers. Great guy to deal with.

Thanks for that, I will give him a call. It is difficult being far away from any dealers that can help! I am a total newcomer to huskys and fuel injection. I am reading so many helpful posts and trying to gather as much info possible. Should the bike start if there is spark and fuel?

Should the bike start if there is spark and fuel?

The bike needs, fuel, air, compression and spark.

Do you have spark, have you checked the spark? How have you checked it?

Does the bike get fuel delivered to the injector? How have you checked it?

I pulled the plug out, connected to the cap and kicked while the plug was touching the barrel! There was spark, I am not sure if it was good spark! Someone posted a video of spark and it seemed to be a lot more blue!
I presumed there was fuel as I heard the pump prime! I have since read quite a bit. The bike had not been started for two years and the fuel was an off colour when I removed it to replace with fresh fuel! Do I need to remove the pump and clean it, what would I do about the injectors? I will only be able to work on the bike this weekend and I have dedicated this weekend to my Husky!
There is only one button on the right, presuming it is the start button, no kill switch, I followed the wires and they were not connected! I found another two wires behind the light, touched one on the frame and my starter turned! My owners manuel colour code for the starter is different to what is on the bike! CONFUSED!

There is definitely compression!
Air - not sure how to check
Spark- checked by taking plug out and kicking with plug in cap against the head, there was spark, I am not sure how strong though, will double check on Friday evening!
Fuel- the bike had not been started for two years so I removed old fuel and replaced with new. I did not remove pump or injectors???? Should I ?
I heard the pump prime however did not follow through and check if fuel was being delivered? Any suggestions, I have never owned a injection bike.
A few other things, there is an aftermarket start switch not connected, no kill switch and the wires behind the headlight seem strange, touched one of them on frame and it turned the starter. The colours did not match my owners manual diagram

I just had a look at the wiring that I last mentioned!
I have a loose black/ brown (that is the one that turns the starter when grounding)
I have a loose blue
Connected are blue/yellow and brown
These all go into a junction box with , a pink, green grey and white wires coming out the other side! MY HEAD SPINS!
PS t

Dude I feel your pain
pull the pump and check it run it out of the tank
see if there is any leaks
pull the throttle body put the tank back on hook up the wiring
to the throttle body hit the light it up button and see if the injector is squirting
if that is happening U R good to go if not you could have a clogged injector

ounce you get your confirmation that you have the whole Air fuel spark thing
then pull the plug stick your finger in the spark plug hole crank it over if it blows your finger out then you are half way there

As far as your whole electrical thing goes man if a po got in there and started getting crazy you could have a
on going never ending night mare trip with the whole harness thing, although it is doable chasing down wire by wire but
at this point i think I would just go with a 09/10 harness the proper switches and a better ECU pick up a 09/10 stator system
get the 10 headlight and raise the bar on everything
Just a thought Bill.
ps get ibeat your R gona need it

Thank you, I have just pulled the pump and the this is what I foundimage.jpg
Will that, the fuel level sensor not make the pump work?

Happy days all, she started! Yet to ride her, tomorrow is another day! Thanks all for invaluable info throughout Cafe husky ! Stoked to have the bike running although I think I will be needing to do plenty of work to get the beast 100%! One day at a time! Thanks again!

Thanks, I went for my first ride today,
The bike is starting and running,
There has been no power up mods done, the exhaust sensor is still there. I think it is still stock standard!
The idling is all over the place, goes up and down so I need to get it tuned.
As I have said before there are no dealers on this island and I have no Ibeat?

You could always do the quick fire check. Pour a couple ml. of fuel into the cylinder, install plug, etc and see if it at least wants to run. If it does you can focus on injection wiring and the injector itself. Go ahead and replace the fuel filter while you're at it. Two year old gas can cause many problems. Good luck!

+1 rules out alot if it does fire you can assume compression, valves, ignition is okay and focus on FI
