  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te511/2013 wont start via Start button

9880sts

Husqvarna
AA Class
was out yesterday and as i went to start again , the bike didnt do a thing.
Battery OK. I disassembled the Start switch , all ok.
Swapped relays and still no go. When i bridge the Start solenoid , the bike cranks over but wont start.
Then suddenly the start button works , i could drive bike out and back to car. Then again no more start action . I could wiggle wires and still nothing.

Any Ideas ???

I had a similiar issue, but after I was messing with the wiring behind my headlight, turns out I had strained the connector for the clutch switch just enough for one of the wires to lose connection. Pulled the connector apart and put back together. Fixed it. Ps for this repair I didn't remove my headlight, just used a flashlight and carefully followed the wire. Hope this helps. 2013 TE449.

FYI, I ditched my clutch switch. You can get a banjo bolt from the local auto parts store that will fit perfectly. As a nice side effect, doing that ever so slightly reduced the clutch pull.

Thanks for info ,
but i hot wired the Clutch button already in the bush and didnt change a thing.. must have another cable issue along the loom.

once again the 511 did let me down.. but this time in a real nasty spot. After 40min i managed to get the bike out and get it back to the car without stalling ... I pulled the start switch apart in the woods , removed ignition barrel without any help. Swapped relays around. Nothing helped. I was sure i got a break in a wire along the loom. Then today i opened the last connector to check some wires and found this. This plug is supposed to be water sealed . You find it behind the Head light. One pin is completely rooted away... the last bid then melded on the track. Water was in it. My advice is to pull all plugs apart and put Electric grease in there...i am going to remove this plug complete and install a New one.Plug1.jpgplug2.jpgplug3.jpg

Wow, that' s a lot of corrosion. I will definitely check mine. Glad you found with without ripping everything apart.

these bikes leave alot to be desired as far as the wiring harness...the fact they just shove the wires around the throttle body/frame is just stunning, then mount the freaking relays as low as they could right in the way of any water.... O...O
