• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Te610 vs Te630 vs Te650

I have very nice TE610 that I have has some farkles, and a 2010 BMW f800gs. After a great 3 day ride on the 610 I think this is a great adventure bike. I picked up the beemer for longer tours which seem impossible to free up the time at this point in my life. After my 610 trip I am thinking of building a new smaller adventure bike (the beemer or the 610 would have to go). The beemer is very spendie with insurance etc and the 610 is just so feckling cool. My dealer has a 6011 te630 that he wants to move. Does the 630 make a decent street bike? Is it smoother that the 610? I know the clutch is better and a little more power. I have riden the bmw dakar which is the basis for the new bike. My concerns are vibrations and the 5 speed. I think the 630 may be a better starting point for an adventure build, however I would have to spend lots on cash on the mods, (lower suspension from les, a real seat and some comfort stuff). An opinon from those former 610 owner who have picked the 630 would be helpful.

I test rode the 610 many years back and was NOT impressed, but bought the 630 as soon as it came out. After doing the p/u etc am an almost a satisfied customer ... if only it weren´t so HEAVY and cumbersome (the turning circle is rediculous).

I have a WR300, TE 630 and a Honda Hornet for the street. The seat needs some work but other than that it's a really cool bike. It attracts more attention than my Ducati 748 ever did
