• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks Coffee

You support me, I support you, it's just one big freaking love fest. :D

I greatly appreciate the support as do my kids (food)

- BTW, what islands do you live on? I used to live on Kwajalein, a little island in the middle of no where. LOVED it. Simple slower life. Was there as a kid for 8 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwajalein_Atoll

Yeah, I love that picture of you, skateboarding in front of the little houses with the banana trees… from back when you were blonde ;);)-->:D

No banana trees for me, just sand on the east coast :(
Thanks again for supporting coffees efforts :applause:

I met some guys from Kwaj back in 1980. They got on the plane with me and went to Ponape and I went on to Australia eventually. They were memorable for how much they drank and their desire to dive with the sharks. I guess the sharks were everywhere on Kwaj so maybe no choice.

sounds about right. :D

I would surf / snorkel all the time and there were sharks everywhere. No one ever got bit. :excuseme: I have footage of my dad feeling them. They were not huge ones though, maybe 5 feet, white and black tip I believe. BTW, they are pretty good eatin. :D There were big sharks but on the ocean side (as apposed to lagoon side) and in deeper water. I saw a HUGE tiger or something once while snorkeling, glad I was in the water so no one saw me wet myself.
