• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks for all the help! Moving on...

I wanted to thank Coffee and all the board for making Cafe Husky a great place. I sold my 2010 TE250 yesterday and will probably be moving to one of those or*nge bikes.
I'm hoping the new owner of the TE shows up here and enjoys riding the bike as much as I did!

This community is really one of the best I've used online, and I wanted to say how much I appreciate that the forum is run nicely. And people have been genuinely helpful. Perhaps some of my posts have helped some others.

Why sell the TE250? For what it is, the TE250 was a really great bike for me! But, I want some more torque and better accessory options for things like a larger tank (wasn't happy with the IMS I tried). I was really becoming limited in my travels by fuel range.. and will end up with a big tank on whatever I get next. At 50, I think I would appreciate a bit more torque for easier riding and less shifting. And I admit to just wanting to try something else (a 310 or 449 would be too similar). I'm not a "blood believer" in any manufacturer and I actually have 6 different manufacturers in the garage now, but I've never had anything or*nge yet.

As far as getting another Husky, maybe in a couple years, but for now I must admit that BMW not standing up for the cost of my timing gear bearing replacement put me off, and I'm not really sure of the future for the manufacturer. (I'll never buy a BMW after that.) And the time for a new bike for me is now, I'm not willing to wait for whatever's next for Husky.

Best wishes, and thanks for the good times!

Carl
(PS, I have some iBeat software and the adapter for sale in the classified section. If I find anything else leftover in the garage I will also post that stuff.)
