• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks for everything Cafe Husky!

No diatribe. No long-winded farewell speech.

The recent announcement that KTM will destroy Husky as we know it has caused me to think about a lot of things. Also, most of you know about my encounter with a tree last year that sidelined me for months.

I'm out. Done riding the woods. Traded the '12 TC250 today on a '13 KX 250 for Cody. I'm without a Husky for the first time in 10 years since I started back riding after a 20 year gap.

I can't say enough good things about this forum, Coffee, and all the friends I've made here over the past several years. This place is truly one of the shining stars on the internet. I've learned so much from all of you and have enjoyed your company more than you will know. Thank you all for making this place great and helping make my Husky ownership experiences fulfilling.

I salute you, and wish you all the very best. Ride hard and stay safe.

Thanks again!

see you on the flip side.
we wont go anywhere unless someone hasnt passed on a memo....
problems will always need amending.

and ktm cant unmake the past loads of second hand bikes at good prices

Its been good knowing you; dont be too much of a stranger. Stop in and say hello once in a while.

Good luck young man with the new bike and Cody and life and I see no problems in the future for you ... :)

You don't have to leave for good. You can always drop in and say "hi" from time to time.:)

Yep I second that. You don't have to leave because you may not want to ride. You can hang out it's all good.

And I third that! Just because you don't ride doesn't mean you can't come keep us company sometimes :)

Also, this place wouldn't be what it is without our terrific members...plain and simple. Thanks for being an active participant, Krieg, and good luck in all your future endeavors!

Sorry to hear you are moving on.
Don't forget though that there is a very good bunch of folks here (cept for me) and is a good place to go no matter what brand is in your garage.
