• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

the dirtscooter got some new sneakers

im comming off of the michelins so i hope to see a big improvement. the front tire was the orginal off my 09..it was so frickin stiff the tire went flat since i had rode it last(about a month) and would not rebead for nothing. took it into halls to have it looked at, i originally though i flared the rim on a rough landing but it was just the tire thank god.

ok holy cow the new pirelli mx extra x were pretty damn nice compared to the michelins that were on the bike before. seemed to like the dry hard pack dusty stuff alot better.

Your corn does not look too bad considering the drought, irrigating? I'm not a farmer but saw lots o dead crops driving north up into Kansas recently.

Wont belong before all ethanol blended gas is gone, at least temporarily.

Oh, and nice lookin tires!

the pic is deceiving about the corn. to the right of the picture theres a old cemetary plot probably 50 x50 or so with some huge hedge trees in it. i think that they helped keep that little section in the pic shaded. id say 50% crop this year. im no farmer, just goin by what ive seen out here. boy, one more thing to make gas prices go up....
thanks, the tires are badass i wasnt sure howd they be as they dont look as "cool/agressive" as the michelins but man they work alot better in the stuff i have at my house at least. i havent got to try them in any soft stuff yet but will post when i do.

wow... Tire looks ok but you got the cool looking Husky goggles! Can you get replacements lens?

I wish I just had that strap ...

thanks, i got em from halls. they are made by progrip and are the best set ive had yet i think this is the 3rd set ive tried. i use the transition darkening lens (work decent but scratch easily). the googles are pricey but seem to work well for me and keep the dust out better than the smiths i had before.

It's so hot here, I've stopped wearing goggles pretty much except on the tracks where roost is so possible ... I do have the smiths but them do not seem to fit well with my helmet ... seems like they wanna fit against the my helmet on the top side ...

I'd really like the yellow color lens (unless in bright light) to help make all objects stand out more ...

My father and I were framing in 1980 I think it was that year ... There was a drought that yr and after that, thousands of wells were put down all across the entire area of LA (lower Arkansas) ... Anyone who could, got rid of the dry-land crops.... I'm surprised the ground still has water to pump out ... The GOV set some limits on wells (I think but not sure) to try and curb the usage ...

thank god were on a good well here, plus the area is within a mile of a small river so that helps too even thought thats a large creek right now. it is frickin dry, i remember a drought in the 86-88 range somewhere i want to say, i remember no rain and really dusty but not the lengths of heat we had. there were no blackberrys on the bushes this year that i seen

do you wear sunglasses instead of the goggles? i have to wear something. if i dont i cant see with the sun out anymore....its hell at the beach during vacation for me. got to take the shades off or loose em in the water. :banghead:
