• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well kinda a Nuda. I saw this while searching for something else. The bike the Nuda is based on and available here. Anyone here own one and want to comment?

Any link to where it is listed on the bmw motorcycle website? Or even a link to a dealer that may be selling them?

different forks, different frame, somewhat different (displacement and tuning) engine...

I keep imagining I posted in this thread. I even posted a picture I'm pretty sure... Am I dreaming or did it evaporate?

Anyway, here I go again...

I saw this bike in the flesh today at my local BMW dealer. It looks fantastic. But for me, the ergos sucked in a big way! My knees felt like they were on my cheeks. Way too low. The "real" Nuda, with it's taller seating, is much more appealing to me. I didn't test ride the bike so I can't comment about engine or performance, but the price was reasonable. I kept finding myself going back to the Triumph Tiger... :excuseme:

I wonder how much longer they will keep this bike away from people how use dollar bills on a regular basis, like to buy milk and cookies from the grocery store

Well aware of that which is why I posted "Nuda" and "kida a Nuda" in quotes.

Really just wondered if anyone had ridden one and what they think.

Well they have been holding out on wide ratio transmissions and big tanks since at least 04 so...

I may be shopping for a second bike this time next year. If the real Nuda comes to the states, I might have to get one.

Husky is still screwing up in a big way. Where are the minis??? You gotta have your son or daughter grow up on your brand, and they will probably continue to ride that brand when they get older............................ Also heard very limited availability of 2012 Husky 250 and 300 WR's not sure if this is true or not. Get on the bandwagon. BMW rejects need to rethink, why KTM and Gas Gas have nice 2-strokes available. Direct injection and a 2-stroke comeback is not far away************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************Nuda should be avail to, even if limited..................

Not sure what the deal is. Yep I miss stock 3.2 gall tanks , a low seat ht. and wide ratio 6-speed****************************************************************************************************************************************************************!!! Would not cost them much to make us spec bikes, and I'm sure they would sell more!! Now you get crappy ergos(250-300) tall seat, marginal tank and a moto tranny:mad: but Gas Gas can make a 200 just for us. Funny.....

Not seen that or heard that. Local dealer Bills has both on the floor. Several of each last time i was there and piles of 125's too.

Husky is doing good IMHO. Mini's have been long gone for a while, not sure whats up but it is logistics and legal issues I am sure. The Nuda they said from the get go was not coming to the US. Bikes like that might not sell well and jumping through the hoops to get it 50 state legal makes it not an attractive proposition is my guess. Husky parts come super fast now and seem to be in stock well. Things are improving all the time. MV sucked husky dry and sold it, BMW is rescuing it, things look good. IMHO

Whatever the reasons for not having the minis here, isn't good enough. They're essential for the long term health of the brand.

(bold) - I think you mean 'everywhere in the world BUT western Europe spec bikes'...........

with the lead law repealed, i wonder if they will reconsider bringing the mini's over. and yeah, no nuda's for the states. the cost of the computer and softwear is somewhere in the region of 15,000 i hear. have to sell a lot of bikes them to pay for that...
