  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

thinking of selling my 2011 TE 250.. any idea on price

Husqvarna
A Class
I am contemplating getting either a new ( 2015) Husky FE 350 or a leftover 2014 FE Husaberg to gain some more power. I have ridden my buddies KTM 350 enduro and as much as I am not an "Orange" fan, the additional power makes for a perfect combination of weight and power.

I really like my 250 and I have it totally set up. Custom ESP suspension ( lowered properly 1 inch) front and rear. JD jetting kit, Cycra hand guards, and a few nice Touratech bits. Other than a few battle scars the bike is in great shape and runs great. I have had zero problems with it in 1400 miles. I've had a valve inspection and everything was in spec. The motor is tight, no leaks, oil and filter changes every 200 miles. Starts like a champ every time. Maybe I should keep it .

I've got about $1500 in extras in the bike with the suspension and the jetting kit. Any idea on what I would ask for this bike? There are a few used 2012's from $4000-5000. I do have a friend that is interested in buying it..

Maybe add a 310 kit or play with gearing? In NJ I think you'd be lucky to get 2500. I see guys asking 3500-6500 on CL, they aren't actually selling though. To move anything up here these days you have to be ready to give it away, especially older Husqvarnas.

I thought about doing the 310 conversion but have had others say that's not such a great idea.. What would that process be?

I know it is winter in most parts of the country ( even here in Arizona its been on the cold side) so selling any bike is tough. Is it harder to sell these 2010-2013's because they are the only Italian years with difficult parts to find.

What's funny is most times I am riding with others or at an OHV area people come up and ask about it and think it's cool.

I'll probably just keep it for awhile and see if I can find a slightly used 2015 or 16 FE 350 down the road. I just can't see shelling out 10k plus for a dirt bike. I think I paid about $5500 for my TE 250 new in 2011 as they had deep discounts on them.

I think any pre KTM Husqvarna is a tough sell and pretty much always were, even new. Maybe look for a 310 to test ride. Maybe look into TC cams and stuff like that, big bore and pipe. Always cheaper to keep what you have already dialed in for you. Maybe keep an eye out for a 310 engine to drop in. I'm no expert on the X lives so ask around on that stuff. It might not match a new 350 but I think you can make it much better.

In a similar situation, I have a nearly new 06 TC450 that I threw a fork tune at and its about as good as it can get. To sell it it's basically worthless right now. The 6 speed counterbalanced SMR engine with E-start would be a treat. I'm keeping an eye out but these bikes seem to suffer from being both rare and of little value. Lol. Unless I need a used part, then it's expensive! Hahaha!

A 2011 TE250 here like yours described would sell for about $4K AUD, which is approx $3.50 USD

The advertised price would probable be $5-5.5K if it were me selling here but our market is wayyy over inflated for certain things including dirt bikes when buying new.
