  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

throttle body boot problems

nep2012

Husqvarna
A Class
I have a 2012 te 310. The bike pops and stalls sometimes more than other. Sometimes when it does this the throttle body boot comes off from the throttle body. Not the side to the cycl;inder the other side. Dangerous situation as I am afraid dirt will get sucked into engine. Loosening and tightening the clamp has weakened it and it is proving hard to find a new one. Dealer laughed when I asked him if he had one. Tried a Honda clamp, too small it fits the side on the cyclinder but not the bigger diameter to the throttle body. The popping and stalling my dealer claims could be a gas issue, too much ethanol makes it run lean therefore popping. Does anybody have any issues with this. Would a power commander V with a auto tune stop this? And where can I find this clamp. 5/16 band width and I think 73mm diameter.

I have read that advice before. Maybe I will call the dealer and ask him the cost for that switch. Or maybe I'll trade my te in for a txc. He has some good deals on leftover txc's. He has a 2013 TXC 310R for $5999.00 which I could maybe get for less. I love my bike have about 2200 miles on it but this popping stalling thing has been with me since I bought the bike. Besides that the throttle body boot has come off many times. I have heard horror stories about dirt getting into tngine and destroying motors. Anyway thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
