• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tire Wrench Storage

Once I reaized that (if I ever wanted to remove the front tire) I would need to have / carry a 12mm hex wrench, I was stumped as to where I would carry such a beast. This is what I came up with. From what I can see, it doesn't hit anything, and it sure can't make the seat any more uncomfortable than it already is!

WOW, thats a wrench. Where did the stock stubby one go? All you need is that and 12mm (which can be used for other things on the bike as well)

The bike didn't come with a tool kit - was it supposed to? I was going to cut it down but figured if I could store it the way it is then the extra leverage may come in handy. Plus it doubles as a billy-club :)

I just bought a brand new TE510 (2010 model) in Queensland Australia and it came with no tools at all. Just a USB stick and a digital air pressure gauge. I was told by the dealer that Husqvarna do not supply tools with new bikes anymore. Today I spent hundreds of dollars building up my own tool kit. I guess it's all part of the fun.

Man that thing has to weigh at least a lb.

I don't have a picture to show it, but when I first had my 510 before I went to Motosportz front axle nut. I welded a bolt head (that fits inside the front axle) to a way smaller Allen wrench. With Kelly's front nut... :D I was able to use the Cafe Husky Billet Axle Wrenches.
