    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

A add said he didn't know the size or year of a Husqvarna engine. The cylinder is a ac cr and the case has a internal motoplat rotor. I'm thinking it's a 82/83 Husqvarna 250cr. For the average cost of a replacement cylinder I grabbed it. Parts is parts. I'd like to build another evolution milk truck cr bike. I'm in the process of pulling parts for engines and inspecting them. I'll build the engines first then pull out the frames. Once the weather breaks it a green light to build.

My point is do any of you buy used parts to have a supply? Since some of the husky parts are dirt cheap I figure now is the time to grab some. I'm not sure if the parts will ever dry up but who knows. But remember with each bike they dismantle and sell for parts that's one less complete bike.

I have three international 154 loboy estate tractors and just about have a complete tractor in parts on the shelf for parts.
 
I have been downsizing my vast junk pile. I like buying extras if the price is right. Gotta get rid of more stuff first. Anyone want to buy a dump truck?

If you did not buy the parts, someone else would have sooner or later. Once someone commits to parting out, that is usually the end of the bike because frames you usally get stuff with and I will not sell a frame requiring welding. When I got my Husqvarna basket case package back in 2007, I got 4 Husqvarnas and parts of a couple others along with a roached 86 KX250 and a hacked up 85 KX125 with one of the 250WR engines stuffed into(rather badly) My game plan that worked out to a point was to part out the 2 KXs and use the proceeds to fund parts and services for the Husqvarnas. I got stuck with the KX250 frame as I had to weld a critical support.
The forks were stuck in my eBay store for about 4 years before I finally pulled them along with both sets of triple clamps. I made enough on the engine parts from the KX250 engine to buy 3 Wiseco piston on eBay for my collection. I have put the forks and triples back on the frame and have created a rolling chassis for an engine transplant(not Husqvarna) The point is you can rarely sell everything unless you get the bike complete but with a problem like needing a crank rebuild.

To your question, yes I buy parts I have a perceived need for when I can get them for a good price(usually with caveats attached)
 
Well for the cost of a cylinder I have the cr bottom end with a cr cylinder/head she showed up today it's a 82/83 250cr #2088 case.
I did good again. The engine/add just spoke to me. My gut feeling is never wrong.

I need to play Texas Holdem at the casino. Been lucky lately.

I missed one number for ten million dollars. I will build the sickest Motorsports tracks you have ever seen. We will bring motorcycle racing of all types to the northeast.
