• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tr650 Parts Not Available Anymore

Husqvarna
B Class
Hey all,
I am having minor issues with my TR 650 Strada, so I am looking for parts like:
THROTTLE CABLE #8539137 (no alternative from BMW)
CLUTCH-CABLE #8539124 (maybe an alternative from BMW)
and many parts for the engine to rebuild it.

But dealers I contacted in Czech Republic (https://www.husqvarna-promoto.cz/) and Germany (husky-shop24.de), told me that Husqvarna stopped supplying parts for TR 650 and they do not have anything available in their warehouse in Austria.
They both told me that they need to clear the warehouses for new models parts, so they scrapped the old ones.
I did contact Husqvarna directly, awaiting a response.

So if this is true, does it mean I can never repair my TR650 is there are no alternatives from BMW G650 GS?

Does anybody know more about where to get parts in Europe or Worldwide?

I was told the same from a Husqvarna dealer in Italy. They destroyed the old parts. And I desperately need a piston for my TR's engine.

So have you got it apart? You've seen the piston?
It was the known airbox issue. I have found even smal gravel inside the airbox when I opened it. I haven't opened the engine yet but Iam sure it will need new piston and new cylinder nicasil. So the most difficult to find is the piston, nicasil recoating I have found where to do it.

Maybe you'll get away with just rings? I guess you'll find out.
I found out about the airbox issue very early at around 2,000k after buying it new.
Had it sorted then and still running strong with no oil usage at 75,000k

that's 16oz in 600 miles. does it smoke?

check your vents. check your plug. pull pipe and check ex valves. if they are coked, find out why. order a bore-scope from amazon and look at the bore before teardown. if you have major scoring or ring issues, it'll smoke. if it smokes on strt up only, it's guides.

dont give up, you have options if it still runs. it's just an engine. find the cause b4 tearing it down.

I am in South Africa and also find difficulty getting spares. Any suggestions other than ebay, they are ridiculous with their pricing.....not to mention the shipping!!
