• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Trials tire fans try this on for size, GT216 Gummy

http://www.goldentyreusa.com/GT_216X__The_Gummy_Tyre_.html The "Gummy" is now available here in US. This is the FIM comp pattern style trial compound sticky tire Graham Jarvis uses to win extreme enduros. 10 psi (or even less) or with a mousse it promises to be a more versatile tire than a pure trials type with all the gummy/sticky compound of your favorite trials tire. They only make it in the E2-E3 standard size 140/80-18 so use it only on 350 4T+ and 250 2T+ sized bikes. GoldenTyre is well known for making all sorts of niche sized tires so we smaller bike riders may see it in the E1 standard 120/90-18 size eventually.

I know a few guys who used those tires in Canada last year and everyone agreed they worked amazing in the rocks like a trials tire. The downfall is that they are a 1 or 2 race tire and then they are junk.

I like trials tires, make up for a whole bunch of sins. Have had the Dunlop d803,prielli mt43 and this year used the vee rubber vrm308r. I like how long they last. They are like velcro on rocks and roots. Other than the dunlop i get a full season on them and then some.
Golden also is a spec tire for flat track this year, they are cheeper than maxxis or dunlop.

I talked to Stepy at Golden Tyre yesterday Things are going to speed up as more and more product is comming into the USA everyday. Ty Davis is in the works and should be up and running selling them as the west coast importer

Wish they made a 19 trials tire...

Mitas makes one and it is DOT. I have been told they are not that great as trails tires need a lot of sidewall to do their thing.

Didn't realize GT was such a well know company. They have been making a hard push in the US for supermoto so they already have my vote. If I remember right they are the spec tire for USA Pro Supermoto
