• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

It will soon be time to get along to the big off road show at Telford (United Kingdom) on the 9th and 10th of February.
There is always plenty to see and buy. Those coming from Europe will probably do best to fly into Birmingham and hire a car - unless you are planning on buying bikes!
Alan Wright puts on an excellent show with 3 halls and an outside Autojumble (swapmeet).

Just getting some bikes ready to display. Note the streak gustavsson.JPG 510 in the background - it is Tomas Gustavssons personal bike from 1987 - the guy who invented the aircooled 510 husky motor...

Andy Elliott.

Euh, no ! Why ?
Busy with 3 young kids at home. last one is 4 months old.
But it is a place to go at least one time, like Novegro ( Milano), Imola or Mid-Ohio.

Andy,
That's a beautiful 82 CR 500!! Do you have a little bit different shock collar at the top of those Ohlins?

No, but the show includes some road racers - so you will not have the only slicks in the house!!!

Come anyway - I defy anyone not to have a good time.

I should be there, just got to sell a KTM engine to fund it, and pay for the heating oil thats just run out ! I hope you will have some shiny things I don't know I need yet. Its a happy (but cold) new year from me.

Be good to see you again Joe. Maybe we can find your next resto project, and then come and race with us. Far safer than those bicycle things !

Working all feckin weekend. Don't forget to tell me about the 500lc engine with no buyers at £200 and the Fox Shox that nobody wanted
