  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC310 generator issue

Hi Guys!

I need your advice and help.

I'm a owner of Husqvarna TXC310 MFG:2012

Last weekend i was on the enduro champ. Just in a middle of raceway my bike stopped. It was like that: gasoline pump is not working, relay issues popping sound.
So as a conclusion battery is empty. Gasoline pump is not working because pawer of battery is not enough.

But it happens on the working bike. For my understanding, it could't happen if generator works. Am i right?

Your bike has a Mikuni fuel injection system. It needs a good battery to work. The generator should be fine.

Do you have the original battery?
Replace with a lightweight Lithium

Thx for reply )
Yes my battery is pretty old. I will buy a new today and try again (original battery is Yuasa YTZ7S, right?)
I've checked all wires...it is ok.

Guys, i can not understand how to check generator. It have a solution in manual, but i can not understand what exactly i should meter:

Guys, sorry for stupid question, but what exactly i should do:
Disconnect connector 1 and measure resistance between pins? But it have 3 pins, is it any matter what pins i will check?
I should do it when L.H. disassedbled from bike? or i should do it when bike is assembled? or i should do it when engine is working?

Yes, YTZ7S Yuasa is the stock battery. Lithium batteries are approx. 1kg lighter

Sorry, I'm not sure about the generator check. Maybe someone will help here.

Did a new battery fix the problem?

remove clean and tighten all battery connections. Use dielectric grease too.

Rather then just buy a new battery also have the old one tested. Throwing parts at a problem is like guessing at math. Most bike shop or auto parts stores have a digital tester. All you need to know is the cracking amps that YOUR batter should have. find the model and google. Take that info with you to the place. Once you know that it's a bad battery buy a new one. i would also add buy local if you can.. .

I think what they are having you check for is a short/broken wire in the leads from the generator. So you're just checking for resistance on each of the wires in the plug. The bike should not be running and you don't need to remove the cover as in the picture. You just need to remove the connector when the bike is off, and not running. I would also look very well at the wires where they go into the flywheel. These can take a good deal of heat.

Also check the connection at the plug. you can buy electrical cleaner spray. clean it well, let dry and then use some dielectric grease or spry. Don't go nuts you just want it on the pins not enough to collect dirt.

Hey bud might be a bit late, but check the fuel pump relays.....My 511 is having relay problems and i bet they are the same or close to it. Try tapping on the relays jumping or swapping them out!

Concur. This happened on my 2012 TE310 - the wires weren't routed/secured correctly and they melted from the exhaust. It would run off a charged battery and then die. Took some investigating to identify the problem.

The damage to mine was done when I got the bike but I ended up changing out the clutch line and just rewrapping some of the wires. I also rotated the clutch fitting as inwards towards the starter as I could without smacking the starter. I also used some heat wrap on the area.

On my te511 I separated the 3ph AC generator wiring from the bundle of unshielded DC and computer control wiring and routed it separately up to the rectifier/regulator behind the steering column.

I spent big bucks and fixed everything else and two shops said it coundnt be so nothing is wrong ... so after the tow truck ride home I rewired it myself last week and have not had one burp since runs great now.
