  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

UK Vintage Enduro - Just got back from the 'Hot Trod' Retro Enduro...

The only place to be last weekend was in the North of England at the 'Hot Trod' Vintage enduro weekend! With a hare scramble on the Saturday and a full time card Enduro on the Sunday, in glorious weather. Even Peter Drakeford (ex Australian VMX Magazine writer) found a good excuse to stay in the UK long enough to attend the Number one British event of the year.

OK, so Peter did overstay his vacation, due to a heart problem brought on by taking part in another vinduro two week earlier, but it was great to see him there and looking well....

Looks like a great event, love the pics of the guys dumping it in the mud (with the exception of Maico Man going over the bars for a close up inspection of his front wheel) Been there done that a few times, thought you brits would be better at navigating the mud!:D

Cheers,
Adam

Maybe we should Steve. Conditions couldn't be any worse than this weekend was !
Andy has been saying I should give it a go. Just need a van now ! No way I am treking all that way with the Impreza and a trailer.

It was not that muddy up north at the 'Hot trod'. Some of us Brits do go well in the mud! Peter Drakeford did not ride, as he has had a heart operation, but is doing well. It was great to meet him after reading so much of his stuff from 'Down under'!

Get your entries in fast next year guys - as the entry was full this year. It would be good to have more foreigners next year too (4 Germans came over..). Come on - where are the French?

I may make a www.hva-factory.com Husky available to ride if there is a good rider interested from farther away....

It was a 7 hour drive for me each way, but worth it.
Andy
