• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This Past weekend was the AHRMA Unadilla MX rewind, though i missed the Saturday Vintage
races (Pre 1975), i was there for the Post Vintage races on Sun. I heard Sat races where muddy,
due to the usual rain that almost always seems to threatens at this time of year.

Sunday was partly overcast & though we did get some rain it never was enough to make it muddy.
The turn out was great, 10+ moto's of full gates on track & I doubt you could have asked for it to be in better condition. Plenty of Euro machinery , Legends race & of course the chance of us mere mortals to ride this legendary track.

For me & every one i talked to, it was a true weekend we'll always remember. Don't miss it next year!

I was there on Friday and rode the post vintage Cross Country race. It was relly great and there were loads of legendary riders. The event was FIRST CLASS!

Drew,
And the shocks on my 430CR worked awesome, thanks for the super quick rebuild, turn around!

I spectated for a brief bit on Saturday. Watching Guy Cooper on a Bultaco with 4 inches of travel flying out of Gravity Cavity all crossed up was a sight to see. The smell of Castor and race gas was like a drug! Spoke to Gunnar about some Husky things and he was nice enough to sign his book (which rocks by the way).
The MX was nice but I heard I missed some old dude on a wierd looking PE win his class and almost win the overall on Fridays Cross Country Race. Many I spoke to said he was flying through the woods and they thought they were back in 1980 again. Good Times and the promoters and all the Legends that showed really made this a quality event and next year will plan on all 3 days.

Unadilla was fantastic weekend. Alex from Legends and Heroes did a great job of bringing many past champs out but also making for real interaction with them at the open sessions each afternoon and the dinner
session in the evening. I won't forget the stories told. The Robertson family not only encouraged, but really were part of the extra events. This event is set to be held for two more years !! The family run Unadilla track was in great shape - even/ besides much rain on friday night. Just plain go and see this track - period.

Great to meet some folks from this site. Joe and I had a great Husky talk session, and Husky John fighting through battles to get there brought out some Husky parts for a some husky owner we both did not know.
Hope to meet more members from this site next year - this was the best vintage event I have ever been to. See you all there next year I hope.

Yeah Gary,
We both had problems, you had 2 trailer tires blow, me 2 brake lines. Bringing more bikes next year, bigger truck or trailer at very least, as my buddies truck looked like something from Beverly Hillbillies LOL.

Those pics of Unadilla were taken by my Mom. In Vintage Cross Country I rode my '72 Penton Berkshire 100.

In Post Vintage Cross Country I borrowed Craig Hayes' Husqvarna '82 WR250 and got 2nd in PV Open and 2nd overall.

Thats one of the coolest things about Vintage racing, you get to actually line up and race with Legends who for many years you only read about in magazines.
