  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Value on a 2011 TE 250?

Thinking of parting with my 2011 TE 250. It's been a very reliable little bike and I have enjoyed it and has been trouble free. It's got custom suspension ( ESP Southern California) a JD jetting kit and some other goodies. I think it's just over 1k miles. 90% of those off road in the the Mojave and Arizona. Just thinking of making a change and I have someone interested and no idea what to ask. It's been ridden and has some battle scares but I have maintained it and like I said has been issue free..

I would not value mine in less than 6k and it is the same year and model. It is a great bike

Its not about competing with new ktms. Its all the fire sale bikes still available new for around 6k and the fact that the red bikes are gone. Hell huskys didn't have a good resale to begin with because there was a fire sale every year lol.

Are red bikes still available new on dealers? When I bought mine, it was the last one :-( and I bought it(year 11) on 2013, for 7k

Yep there's 2 449s available locally. They were asking 6400. These are 14s btw. The real question is how well you know the potential buyer. Don't ruin a friendship over it but don't screw yourself. Check cycle trader, eBay, etc and see if you can find comparable prices and go from there.
