Ok, I am pretty much a 2-stroke guy and wanted to just see what it is like on the "otherside"
I am not biased against 4-strokes, as a matter of fact my Nissan truck is a 4-stroke.
Took the ex-Kreig 2010 TC250 out last sunday for it's first ride on some tight single track. First of all I am spoiled by a wr125 with an auto clutch, so my first impression is I like the TC but I got tired quick. It seemed it took a little more effort to make it go where I wanted than the 125 naturally. I loved the motor though! Instant power whenever I needed it. The bike seemed to be stable also, once I got it pointed it stayed on course, and could climb a rutted hill without it trying to bounce out of the rut or getting sideways.
I do like the bike and I am going to go over the suspension settings(the back end sits lower than my 125) I had some buddies help me set the sag but they were pretty busy "recycling" beer cans so I am not sure where it is. I am also working on getting an auto clutch, it doesn't need it power wise, but I did stall it 5-6 times during the day, and even though it usually started with 1-3 kicks, it takes a lot of energy on the side of a hill.
I went 13-52 gearing, and I believe it slows it down enough through the rock gardens with out giving up to much top speed.
Also I am back on my work out program, I have been a little slack the last 6- weeks.
I am down( that means good to the ole timers) with the 4-stroke and I think I can go both ways with some set-up work and it is cool to hear a different sound for awhile.
