• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

What editing software are you guys using to edit and post video to either this site or you-tube? Thanks as always Jim!

I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 10 that I purchased off of amazon several years ago. I just checked and you can now get Platinum 11 for under $35. It's easy enough to use and came with a dvd with some basic editing lessons which was very helpful while trying to start using the software.

I might try something listed here but I'm just not gonna put alot of time into editing stuff ... What I try to do is cut the camera on and off as I ride to sort of edit stuff on the fly as it is made ... Six hours a few days ago and I got 20 minutes or so of videos ... Several small 2-3 minutes videos ...

Races would be another story...

I have 11 but It seems to have a real problem when it comes time to render, keeps shutting my computer down. I will admit though I'n not all that savy when it comes to computers s maybe I'm doing something wrong:excuseme:

I have absolutely zero knowledge when it comes to video editing so I keep it simple. I use a free program called
VLC. If I want to add music or combine clips I use VLC/ Windows Movie Maker.

cool thx but do I need to pay for the video editor or is that part free?
It seems if you pay you get the full suite. Or you can just download the video editor by itself, no price shown for just it.
Just download it and see how long it works for.
