• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No show queen- but a 1978 desert king !

1978 390 OR- Has a up to date cal street plate that’s has been on bike since new, only hours on a total go thru and rebuild of motor by john at vintage husky, Boyesen’s reeds, mz-b ignition, pipe and silencer built by pro form, forks gone thur, goki air caps, works performance shocks( that original owner bought back in 1980) Malcolm Smith tank- gas cap- skid plate, WR head light, 79 WR folding shifter,79 side pull throttle, preston petty tony d fender, shorty front brake lever, poco taillight license plate holder, old school two spark plug and wrench holder hose clamped to frame.
Still have to do---have to run extra cables (clutch, throttle) next to ones on bike, get rid of those euro looking tires! Find a old green district 37 desert sticker for front plate.
Have all original parts -perfect tank, currnut shocks, manual, tools, counter shaft sprockets.
This is a weekend rider ,as you can see in first pic I have hundreds of miles of so. Cal. desert where my front yard ends. 50 mile rides most weekends and if needed I can hop on a country road to connect trails******************************************************************************** I have many modern bikes but just love to throw on the old ms boots and play around on the old bike- brings back the good days of ill (harsh) handling, light switch power bands, ape hanger bars, 35 lbs. of gas as high on the bike as you could put it, yet still pinned thru the whoopes in a 78ish way!!! Thanks for looking. And keep the vintage desert/motocross bike alive and ride them!!

WR390 -79, this one will be time consuming and destroy the economy together with the other Qvarna roaches in the garage.
